Wendy Yang
Vice President of Investments
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Wendy started playing football when she was 6 years old. Despite being the only girl in her neighbourhood to play, she quickly picked up a passion for the sport. Throughout her formative years, she actively sought out playing opportunities, navigating a city with limited grassroots infrastructure for women’s football. Her dedication culminated in her recruitment to join the Hong Kong Women’s Under-18s football team.
Wendy then moved to England to pursue her undergraduate studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science, earning a BSc in Management. She balanced her academic pursuits with playing amateur football, but a second ACL tear prompted a period of reflection, leading her to focus her competitive drive on a growing interest in finance as a career.
She began her career in investment banking at Rothschild & Co in their Consumer, Retail and Leisure team in London. During her time there, she worked on several transactions for global consumer brands and private equity firms. Subsequently, she joined Advent International, a global large-cap private equity firm. As an investment professional in the Business and Financial Services team, she was deeply involved in the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and executing complex transactions to partnering with portfolio companies and management teams on strategic initiatives.
Wendy joined Bay Collective in 2026 as Vice President of Investments, driven by the unique opportunity to create meaningful impact by accelerating investments into women’s football and sport.
